    Specialization:

    Areas of Research

    Involved in various R&D projects related to raw materials and mining of limestone deposits out of which the following two projects are important.

    (a) Establishing Potential Techniques for Upgradation of Low Grade Limestone and Mines Rejects in dry mode to make suitable for cement manufacture, and

    (b) Raw Materials availability vis-à-vis Eco-Friendly Exploitation in non-cluster region for Future Growth projects.

    Industrial Research Projects:

      • Executed more than 50 major Industrial Research and Development projects for Indian as well as Overseas cement plants in the areas of Potential areas for Green Field Cement projects
      • Computer-Aided Deposit Evaluation & Mine Planning
      • Methodologies and Monitoring of exploration activities
      • Production Scheduling & Optimization of resources
      • Upgradation of low grade limestone in dry beneficiation process for making it suitable for cement manufacture

    International Industrial Projects:

      • Geological Appraisal for different limestone and kunkur deposits including CADE for 3 cement plants in Kenya
      • Monitoring of exploration and Computer-Aided Deposit evaluation for a cement plant in Qatar
      • Mine planning and production scheduling for a cement plant in Bhutan
      • Contributed as member towards projects in Nigeria, South Africa and Republic of Congo

    Publications:Contributed more than 48 Technical Research Papers/Articles in Journals, National and International Seminars


    Books: Contributed a chapter in a book titled "Energy Conservation and Environmental Control in Cement Industry".


    Contribution towards NCB Publications: Norms for Proving Limestone Deposits for Cement Manufacture, NCB-eAbstracts, NCB-eNews, Proceedings, Annual Reports, Training Literature.

    Training and Lectures: Lectures delivered to students of Post Graduate Diploma in Cement Technology (NCCBM), trainees on the subjects of raw materials and mining, beneficiation of limestone etc. At present as Head of Centre, Centre for Continuing Education of NCCBM, manages and execute training programmes in cement as well as concrete technology including quality management for different levels i.e from students to professional of cement, concrete, building materials and construction sectors.

    • Awarded National Scholarship up to graduation, Institute scholarship in IIT Bombay
    • Awarded Institute Medal (IIT Bombay) for outstanding academic performance in MSc (Applied Geology)
